American Phoenix

The Phoenix is the mythical bird that recycles itself from the ashes of its predecessor. This sculpture embodies its spirit by doubling as a recycling receptacle for aluminum, plastic, glass and paper.

I made Recycling Phoenix from primarily, reused materials including scrap foam and used or defective aluminum cans.

I’ve exhibited Phoenix in New York City’s American Classical League Centennial Institute, Cincinnati Zoo and the Contemporary Arts Center.
